Day 001 · Friday 28 August · 12:01am Eastern
Every night a machine reads the day's news from both sides of the Atlantic and turns one story into a single printed image. That image goes on a black hoodie, a black tee and a paper print for one day. At 11:59pm it is retired and never printed again.
What lands on Friday
One email each morning with that day's picture. Nothing else, and you can leave in one click.
01
Every night a machine reads the news from both sides of the Atlantic and makes one picture before morning. One story. One garment. Nobody sees it coming, including us.
02
It goes up at 12:01am ET and comes down at 11:59pm. Then it is gone, and the number is never used again.
03
No faces, no figures, no logos. Only objects, structures and weather. Every image looks like the morning after.
04
When the news is unbearable we don't make a picture. The drop becomes plain black with only the date. Those are the rare ones.
